 Nara Machinery Co., Ltd. is a powder and granular material processing equipment manufacturer with a history of over 100 years.

The history of Nara Machinery Co., Ltd. dates back to the founding of Nara Shoten in 1924. A group of engineers gathered and focused on the deep connection between daily life and "powder," embarking on the modernization of powder processing—a field that had yet to be explored. As a result, in 1927, they developed Japan’s first domestically produced high-speed impact pulverizer, the “Free Pulverizer,” which was adopted across a wide range of industries including food, chemicals, and industrial pharmaceuticals.

Since then, Nara Machinery Co., Ltd. has consistently pursued its path as a technology-driven “development-oriented company,” providing powder and granular material processing technologies and equipment to a wide range of industries. We have developed various devices tailored to the needs of the times, including large-scale dryers for petrochemical plants (synthetic resins/synthetic fibers), highly cleanable pulverizers and mixing/granulating machines for pharmaceuticals and food products, and particle surface modification technologies for battery materials.
Our technologies are widely adopted in pharmaceutical processes.
From our founding, we have built a lineup of pharmaceutical technologies including pulverization, mixing and granulation (as downstream processes), and particle design technologies for functional formulations.
In recent years, with the growing demand for highly potent drugs in pharmaceutical formulations, there has been an increasing need for “containment technology” from an industrial hygiene perspective during powder handling.
To meet this need, we have developed and provided numerous solutions that integrate powder handling and containment technologies—such as packaging formulation equipment within containment systems like glove boxes.
This “containment formulation technology” is a culmination of our expertise, built over more than 100 years of dedication to the development of powder handling technologies.

 We design and manufacture our equipment on a made-to-order basis, tailored to the specific needs of each customer.
To ensure we provide the most suitable technology for each application, we place particular emphasis on thorough discussions and testing.
